Brent has worked in the mental health field since 1984 and has counseled in
private and group practice since 1994.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in
Sociology with a minor in Psychology/Communication from Southeastern
Oklahoma State University, a M.B.S. in counseling psychology from
Southeastern Oklahoma State University, and is a Licensed Chemical
Dependency Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas.
Brent completed training at University of North Texas and became an approved
LPC supervisor in 1999.
Brent co-created Brief Therapy Associates, LLC as a
multi-specialty group practice with several satellite offices in
Texas and numerous criminal justice, state probation, and
federal probation contracts. Other contracts that Brent has
worked with include, Child Protective Services, Workforce Texoma,
Juvenile Alternatives, and City House.
Brent is a member of many major managed care contracts and has co-created a
non-profit corporation called ACE (Access to Community Enrichment)
to provide counseling, education and supervision for counseling interns.
Brent specializes in relationship issues, addictions, trauma resolution, spirituality,
and
counselor supervision. He also provides
administration and instruction for the Texas Drug Offender Education
Program.
